Information on Publishing in the Conference Proceedings General information: The Conference is primarily targeted towards the discussion and communication of results of authentic research in agricultural sciences. Manuscripts intended for publication, must be submitted in either English or Arabic, not exceeding 3000. Abstract should be in English for all manuscripts and not exceeding 200 words. Each manuscript should be accompanied by a statement from the author (s), that the contents have neither been published, nor are under publication elsewhere in Egypt or abroad. Authors are personally responsible for statements made or views expressed in their manuscripts. Before August 1st, 2006, submit manuscripts in electronic from as World e-mail attachment or on disk plus three hard copies of each manuscript. If the need be, the manuscript is sent back to the author who would then revise his / her manuscript taking the refrees’ comments into consideration. Proofs would be returned to the proceedings editor within 10 days of receiving them. Cooperation of authors in prompt handling of the galley proofs will be greatly appreciated. Guidelines to Scientific Writing and Data Presentation: 1. Scientific writing should meet accepted standards of grammar and syntax. The authors must confirm to the accepted standards of English style and usage. Writing should be in simple declarative sentences. 2. Avoid footnotes in the body of the text, but if it must be used, number it with an Arabic numeral and type at the bottom of the page, on which reference to the footnote is made, as in Word. 3. The complete scientific microbial, botanical and animal name (genus, species, and authority for binomials) of all experimental microorganisms, plants and animals, should be included under Material and Methods and Summary. 4. Only widely used abbreviations should be employed. Standard chemical symbols may be used without definition. If your article uses several abbreviated forms, it is requested to define them where the first abbreviated word is introduced. Pleas use metric system only. 5. In Title, Abstract and Keywords do not use abbreviations. 6. The text should include: ABSTRACT, INTRODUCTION, MATERIAL AND METHODS, RESULTS AND DISCUSSION, and REFERENCES. CONCLUSION is optional. 7. Number all lines and double space EVERYTHING, including tables, legends, references, and footnotes. Begin typing one-third of the way down the first page; leave liberal side margins. The approximate location of the figures and tables should be indicated in the text. Place each table, each set of figures, each set of legends, and each set of literature citation on a separate page at the end of the manuscript. Paginate every page of the manuscript including those of tables and figures. 8. In References, write the author’s name followed by the year. The title of the cited article should appear exactly as it does on the first page of the article, or title page of the book. The title is followed by the abbreviated name of the periodical, except for one-word names, then volume and pages of serial in Arabic numerals. Unpublished data, personal communications, and articles in preparation, are not accepted as references, but should be referred to parenthetically in the text. Articles that are in press (accepted finally for publishing) may be so designated in the References. The journal in which an “in press” article will appear should be included in the references. Citations are listed alphabetically by authors and are referred to in the text by author(s) name followed by the year, examples are: 9. Bear, F.E. (ed.). (1964). Chemistry of the Soil. pp. 115-120. Reinhold Publishing Corp., New York, U.S.A. 10. Clark, F.E. (1967). Protozoa in Podzolic Soils. In: Soil Biology, pp. 15-49. Burges, A. and F. Ras, eds., Academic Press, New York, U.S.A. 11. Authors are requested to use either tables or figures but not both if one would give the same information. 15. Although the Editor of the Proceedings determines the final printed size of an illustration, the author should plan for maximum reduction. Graphs should be in black, each on a separate sheet. Legends and captions should be typed separately from the illustration. |
