This specialization was established as a branch in 1981, the study period was for 2 years (third and fourth). The branch was changed to department in 1991. The department has got branches, agricultural mechanization, modern irrigation systems, renewable energy and biosystems. The departments offer a wide raneg of courses including farm machinery for small and large acreages for both reclaimed and valley soils and land leveling (longtudenal or network). In addition students are trained on designs for trickle and sprinkler irrigation systems process by LASER. Also, students are trained on workshop processes such as welding, cutting, machining, forging, and casting. The department through the agricultural consultancy center (agricultural engineering unit) offers studies and consultation in the field of agricultural engineering and related topics, such as training, planning, designing and constructing various modern irrigation systems and the design of farm machinery equipment.
